The Breeders Owners Trainers & Reinsmen's Association (BOTRA) and the Queensland harness racing clubs in conjunction with Racing Queensland Limited (RQL) will conduct a Harness Racing Industry Day at the Albion Park Raceway on Sunday, 20 May 2012 between the hours of 9:30am and 2:30pm.
It is vitally important that all with an interest in harness racing in Queensland attend this Industry Day to receive the positive vision for the future of the sport and to have the opportunity for input into this strategy.

Vale Jack Waltisbull
The Harness Racing Industry and BOTRA has lost one of it's staunchest supporters.
Jack was a life member of BOTRA and the fact he was in ill health didn't stop him sharing his input to be tabled at the meetings and apologizing for not being able to attend.
He was up to fighting the battle for all issues small or big that affected his beloved sport it didn't matter they were all very important and had to be fixed.
Phil Purser wrote an article on justracing.com.au 18 March 2009: At 77 Jack Goes In to Bat to Save His Beloved Rocklea worth a read.
We will miss you Jack and we promise to keep up the fight you shared for a better future for Harness Racing.

Harness Racing has been actively looking at sites in the Ormeau/Pimpama area to replace Parklands Gold Coast venue which is expected to be lost in 2013.

We had hoped for a better outcome, however the confirmation from Racing Queensland that we will be invited back to give input to changes for the incentive scheme and prizemoney 2012/13 is encouraging. The detailed discussion paper that was submitted to the board is on record and we believe it will be considered for further discussion in the new budgets.

In regard to the Greyhound letter posted on the Wednesday Whinge at letsgohorseracing Bill Dixon has spoken with Dave Irwin and advises that what is reported is not true fact. If you require any further information please speak to Bill. We don't intend to get into a slinging match and negativity; we have more pressing positive issues to concentrate on going forward.

Mrs Reynolds informed the meeting that Mr Matthew Lintott had indicated his willingness to continue as Auditor /strong Jump outs and horse education for Marburg and Redcliffe discussed with RQL.for the ensuing financial year. The meeting confirmed this appointment.
